Registration opens January 17, 2025 and closes on February 17, 2025.
On February 21, 2025 at 4 p.m. the Mayor’s Office of Youth Engagement will host the First Annual Citywide Spelling Bee.
Who Can Compete?
This event is open to students in grades 3 through 8. Ten students from each grade will be selected to compete, so don’t miss your chance to show off your spelling skills!
How to Register:
To participate, students must:
Be recommended by a school staff member (teacher, support staff, or administrator).
Have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Why Participate?
Show off your skills in front of family, friends, and community leaders!

Have fun while competing in a friendly and exciting atmosphere.
How to Get Started
If you’re interested, talk to your teacher or school representative to get a recommendation. Be sure to get parental consent, and you’ll be ready to compete for a chance to be crowned the city’s top speller!
